Summer Sullivan is a PhD candidate in environmental studies at the University of California, Santa Cruz. Her work examines how emergent technologies affect workers and ecologies. Her project dissertation explores the lived and imagined interplay among farmworkers, agricultural ecologies, and technology as California’s Salinas Valley and Silicon Valley endeavor to converge around a shared farming future. She is also an organizer with the UC Academic Student Employees’ Union, UAW 4811.
Sullivan is a 2024 Data Fluencies Dissertation Research grantee.
