Taylor Cruz

Taylor M. Cruz, PhD, is a medical sociologist and current assistant professor at California State University, Fullerton. She studies the social life of data analytics, including how health practitioners, scientists, policymakers, and lay people work with large-scale data systems in everyday society. Her other areas of research include community perceptions of AI-driven automation and public distrust in Covid-19 pandemic response. She received her PhD in sociology from UC San Francisco, where she was an NSF Graduate Research Fellow and recipient of the Diana Forsythe Award for Social Studies of Science, Technology, and Health.

Taylor Cruz reviewed an early draft of Framing Inequity in Health Technology: The Digital Divide, Data Bias, and Racialization.
