Lesedi Bewlay
Lesedi Bewlay serves as deputy director at the Engine Room, where he leads efforts to strengthen partnerships and advise project leads across sub-Saharan Africa. Bewlay has a background in computer science and a history of collaborating and working with nonprofit organizations. He is passionate about understanding and exploring the links between data, technology, and social change and is always curious about how these intersect across different sectors in civil society. As associate for engagement and support in sub-Saharan Africa, Bewlay played a key role in expanding the Engine Room’s reach and deepening its impact. As a member of the senior leadership team, he brings strategic insight and regional expertise to their work across sub-Saharan Africa.
Prior to joining the team, Bewlay cofounded Positive Innovations for the Next Generation, a nonprofit that focused on youth, health, and technology in Botswana. He later founded Tau Technology, which worked to create scalable and sustainable technology solutions in Africa.
